About us
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Peace and blessings be upon you.
Masjid Ahlal Bait is a masjid at Vänortsringen 1 in Märsta, north of Stockholm. It is run by the association Pakistanska Kulturföreningen, whose main purpose is to serve the masjid and the people who pray here.
Our way
We follow Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah and the traditional Sunni schools of law. The association promotes understanding of Islam and its values, and supports Islamic learning for Muslims and non-Muslims alike. We work to deepen knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah, Islamic law and spirituality, and to strengthen faith, practice and inner excellence (Iman, Islam and Ihsan).
Our name comes from a guidance the Prophet ﷺ gave his community. In the well-known Hadith al-Thaqalayn, narrated by Imam at-Tirmidhi (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 3788, from Zayd ibn Arqam), he said that he was leaving behind two weighty things: the Book of Allah and his family, the Ahl al-Bayt. Whoever holds on to them will not go astray, and the two will not part until they return to him at the Pool of al-Kawthar (Hawd al-Kawthar). Imam Muslim narrates a similar hadith (Sahih Muslim 2408), from the sermon at Ghadir Khumm, in which the Prophet ﷺ says: “I urge you to fear Allah regarding the people of my house.”
That is why love for, and following of, the Qur’an, the Prophet ﷺ and his noble family, the Ahl al-Bayt, is our guiding principle.
